First Impressions:
Inu X Boku Secret Service
A masochist misunderstanding and taking advantage a tsundere’s verbal abuses. That’s all that I see from it. There really are a market for these kinds of stories. Gross.
Character design might appeal more to female audience though, the male characters are so well-made. There are fanservices from time to time, probably around 7-minutes total in episode 1 alone. It goes both ways, I think.
First Impressions:
Brave 10
Finally, a shounen series! I don’t now when was the last time I saw one. It’s a typical one with a snobbish lead character and a cute but annoyingly persistent leading lady, but because of the lack of it recently, I found this very enjoyable, let’s bring the macho back!
First Impressions:
Listen to Papa! (Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai!)
It started out like how The Idolm@ster last two seasons did. It went along with content rather than the cliches and the fanservices. Though, you’d get the feel of perverse stuff. Still, something fun to watch.
First Impressions:
Waiting in the Summer (Ano Natsu de Matteru)
Have you seen JJ Abram’s Super 8?
It has certain elements similar to this. Waiting in the Summer is probably the best among the romance genre this season. The animation was fantastic, the story was engaging, there are no weird perverse elements (well at least not in the first episode) and there are less cliches. It’s about this guy with a super-8 camera, and his set of friends who have decided to make a film over the summer break.
First Impressions:
Another
This has the same feel as the first episode of When Cicadas Cry (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni). I just hope this would never crumble like Higuraishi was on its latter episodes. It almost had the same premises. But, since I have this thing with small-town-big-secrets thrillers, I guess I have to wait for more episodes.
The town secret here, though, is much scarier though less mysterious than Higuraishi’s.
First Impressions:
Daily Lives of High School Boys (Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou)
This is a Square-Enix and Sunrise (the studio SOLELY responsible for the Gundam animated series) collaboration. But never expect anything final-fantasy/
First Impressions:
Bodacious Space Pirates
It was at least, not as shallow as Asobi ni Iku yo! (Which I enjoyed, by the way), not even on the same wavelength, but still sparked some similarities. Episode one promised a lot more focus on the plot than on fanservices. But, I think, with this great character design, a second or two of pantyshots would not be bad, right?
First Impressions:
Nisemonogatari
I should’ve taken clues from the title.
This is the sequel for Bakemonogatari (2010) also by SHAFT. It maintained the same structure and style. Still talkative. and still awesome.
First Impressions:
The Swan Song of the Valkyries
It started out with a duo on their concert and ended up being an apocalyptic anime. The first episode is still a flash back within a flashback so I guess we still have to wait until the main plot arrives. The animation is awesome, by the way.
First Impressions:
High School D x D
It’s like Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi mixed with Maken-Ki for M Audiences. The first episode is like something you’ve seen before, it would strike some deja vu episodes for it’s non original content. Or maybe, all of the possibilities of the Harem Genre has been made and nothing’s left but to recycle?
